Composition: These Préludes belong with a collection probably composed in 1851–52, at the age of twelve or thirteen. Bizet won a first prize in solfège in July 1849.
The four Préludes are found on p. 1-4 of the manuscript,
which also contains
Valse, Thème, 1er Caprice original,
Romance, Romance sans paroles, and
2me Caprice original.
