Original work: Ambroise Thomas (1811–96), Mignon, opéra-comique in three acts, libretto by Barbier and Carré, first played at the Opéra-Comique on 17-11-1866.
Transcription: 1866, for publication by Heugel. In the instrumental movements Bizet adopted the reduction from the vocal score, reduced by Auguste Bazille. Besides making piano solo and piano duet arrangements of the complete opera, Bizet was also employed to read the proofs of the full score (556 p.) and orchestral parts.
