first played at the Opéra-Comique on 17-11-1866.

Heugel. In the instrumental movements Bizet adopted the reduction from the vocal score, reduced by Auguste Bazille. Besides making piano solo and piano duet
arrangements of the complete opera, Bizet was also
employed to read the proofs of the full score (556 p.) and orchestral
parts.
