Gounod, La Chanson du printemps

Original Work: Charles Gounod (1818–93), La Chanson du printemps, for voice and piano, on a poem by Eugène Tourneux, composed in 1849 (autograph at US-NH), published by Meissonnier in 1860 and by Choudens in the collection Vingt Mélodies in 1867.
Transcription: perhaps around 1874. It is not known what transcription Bizet undertook, nor even if it was this work that the letter to Choudens refers to. A song of the same name by Victor Massé was published by Cendrier in 1853.
