Ballets et fragments

An ongoing series of transcriptions for piano solo from works published by Choudens, including:

2 L'Arlésienne
3 La Jolie Fille de Perth
13 Carmen (the four ballets as given in the printed full score, only one of which is actually from Carmen).

The remaining extracts were by Berlioz, Gounod, Joncières, Mermet, Niedermeyer, Offenbach, and Reyer.

Choudens' 1884 Catalogue lists the collection as then including both Arlésienne suites, the Carmen ballet, La Jolie Fille de Perth suite, Marche funèbre, Patrie, Roma. It also included transcriptions (many by Bizet) of sections of Gounod's Philémon et Baucis, La Reine de Saba, and the 2nd Symphony, Reyer's La Statue, and Saint-Saëns' Le Timbre d'argent.
