THis Dialogue of Axiochus, gen-tle Reader, was translated out of Greeke, by that worthy Scholler and Poet, Maister Edward Spenser, whose studies hauehave & and doe carry no mean commendation, because their deserts are of so great esteeme.

If heerein thou find not the delight-full pleasures his verses yeeldeth, yet shalt thou receiuereceive matter of as high con-tentment: to wit, comfort in the verie latest extremitie. For his sake then be kind in acceptance heereof, and doe him the right he very well deseruethdeserveth.
