Copynotes: There is no marginalia or any other markings found within the item. The text-block is in good condition, only showing signs of wear and deterioration on the corners of some of the pages, there are faint signs of marbling(?) remaining on the fore-edge of the text-block . The binding is poor to fair, a mottled calf on the boards which differs to that on the spine. It appears it has been poorly re-bound. There is a crack running the length of the spine so the binding is only held together by the cords. The item is edgeworn and has suffered shelf wear.
Editionnotes: The fairy queen part 2, Mother Hubberd's tale, and The shepherd's calendar each have separate title pages, dated 1678. There are several pagination sequences. Register is continuous. Includes: "Brittain's Ida", first attributed to Spenser by Thomas Walkley in 1628; now generally attributed to Phineas Fletcher. Includes Theodore Bathurst's translation of The Shepheardes calendar. Title page is in red and black. Title words "The faery ?
