Copynotes: Their copy lacks vol.2. All vols are in their original bindings of sprinkled calf with gilt stamped spines and spine labels (SPENSER'S WORKS) on red. All have the signature 'Tho. Duresme' at the top of the front pastedown; i.e. Thomas Thurlow, 1737-91, bishop of Durham 1787-91.
Editionnotes: Pp.ix-xviii in the first sequence contain a list of subscribers. Issued in fine and ordinary paper copies; there are minor differences in typesetting between the two.
