Copynotes: Note that this copy, Pforzheimer 973, is the basis of the ESTC entry. See also Johnson's discussion of the two Pforzheimer copies, pp. 45-6. Correspondence of 6/3/10 gives the following information about the constituent parts, in the order in which these parts occur: Collective t.p.: 1611 Letter to Raleigh and dedicatory sonnets: 1611 (“Alle-“) Prosopopoia, or Mother Hubberds tale: 1612. Colin Clouts come home againe Prothalamion: 1611 Amoretti and Epithalamion: 1611 Epithalamion: 1611 Foure hymnes: 1611 Daphnaida: 1611 Complaints: 1611 The ruines of time (caption title) The teares of the muses: 1611 Virgilis gnat (caption title) The ruines of Rome (caption title) Muiopotmos, or The fate of the butterfly: 1611 Visions of the worlds vanitie (caption title) Visions of Bellay (caption title) The visions of Petrarch (caption title) (The shepheards calender, t.p. dated 1611, is also included--not at the end though).
Editionnotes: In verse. Printer’s name from STC. A third "reissue" of the 1609 edition, though both parts are now actually in later settings. Part 1 still has the 1611 cancel title page and conjugate dedication of the first reissue (STC 23083.3). The text of part 1 has now been reset (the 1615 date conjectured by STC); B3r stanza 1 begins "Young Knight". Part 2 still has separate title page dated 1612 or 1613 (stop-press variants) and R3r catchword reads "And". Pagination and register are continuous. The last leaf is blank. Signatures: A⁶(-A1+pi²) B-P⁶ Q⁴ R-2H⁶. Ideally issued with STC 23086.3, 23093.5, 23077.3, and 23087, though some copies have parts from the 1617 editions.
