Copynotes: Bound with oak boards, covered in calfskin with some stamped decoration. The binding is in very poor condition; the front board has become detached from the spine. The text block is in poor condition; there are ink smudges and dirt on some pages and the edges of the text block are dirty. There is an oval library label with Dewey Number on the spine, probably added in the early 20th century. The book is now housed in a conservation grade red box. The endpapers contain the Bloomfield bookplate and Brighton Reference Library label. Bloomfield’s pencil notes in the endpaper state the price he paid in ‘old money’: £16 - 6 – 0 The accession number is handwritten in ink on the reverse of the 1st page: R59,596
