Copynotes: 6 v. (viii, cxl, 1758 p.) plates. 17cm. Bound in contemporary mottled calf; rebacked. Signed on front flyleave of vol. 1: “To Lord Reston from his friend [Sir] Walter Scott.” On verso of t.p. of each volume is glued an oval emblem with “watch weel” at the bottom and “reparabit cornua phaebe” at the top.
Editionnotes: Pp.ix-xviii in the first sequence contain a list of subscribers. Issued in fine and ordinary paper copies; there are minor differences in typesetting between the two.
