County of St. Louis to wit: The Jurors for the United
States of America , upon their oath present, That Isaac
White late of the county aforesaid
Butcher, on the ninth day of August in the
year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and twenty
with force and arms, at the county of St. Louis aforesaid, in
and upon one William James in the peace of
the United States of America , then and there being unlawfully an
assault did make; and him the said William James
then and there did beat, wound and ill treat, and
other wrongs to him then and there did, to the great damage of the
said William James contrary to the form
of the statute in such case made and provided, and against the peace
and dignity of the United States of America .
