George Liss being duly sworn
saith that Lawson Lovering Theodore Hunt
and Louis Revins are material witnesses for
this affiant on the trial of the cause where
in he is plaintiff and John Boley is defendant.

before me & subscribed this 18th June 1824. A Gamble clk

For that where as one Louis Revins
heretofore to wit on the eleventh day of
December in the year eighteen hundred
and nineteen at the county
aforesaid made his certain note on writing
commonly called a promissory note by which
said note he the said Revins then and
there promised to pay on or before the
last day of December in the year eighteen
hundred and twenty two to the said John Boley
or order the sum of five hundred
dollars. And the said John Boley after
the making of the said note and before
the payment of the said sum of money
in the said note specified to wit on
the day and year aforesaid at the County
aforesaid endorsed the said note, by
which said endorsement he the said
Boley then and there ordered and
appointed the said sum of money
in the said note specified to be paid
to the said Liss . And the said Liss in fact saith that afterwards when
the said note became due and payable
to wit on the third day of January
in the year eighteen hundred and twenty
three. at the county aforesaid the said
note as endorsed as aforesaid was presented
and shown to the said Revins for payments
thereof and the said Revins was
then and there requested to pay the said
sum of money there in specified according
to the tenor and effect of the said note
and the said endorsement as made there
on as aforesaid. but that the said
Revins did not nor would at the said time
when the said note was so presented and
shown to him for payment there of as
aforesaid or at any time afterwards
pay the said sum of money there in
specified or any part thereof, but wholly
neglected and refused so to do, of all which
said several promises the said Boley afterwards
to wit on the day and year last aforesaid
at the County aforesaid had notice, by
means whereof the said Boley become
liable to pay to the said Liss the
said sum of money in the said note
specified when he the said Boley
should be thereunto afterwards requested
and being so liable he the said Boley
in consideration thereof afterwards to wit
on the day and year last aforesaid at
the County aforesaid undertook and then
and there faithfully promised the said
Liss to pay him the said sum of money
in the said note specified when he the
said Boley should be there unto afterwards
requested
