keep so that you have his body before the judge of
our Circuit court at the next term to be held
at the town of S Louis within and for the county
of S Louis on the second monday of October
next then and there to answer to Francios Leclere
of a plea, of trespass upon the case to the damage of Fran
cois two hundred and fifty dollars and have you
then there this writ

In the St Louis Circuit Court ,
To October Term 1818.

Francis Leclere, by his attorney complains of
Antoine Cebleau , of a plea of Trespass a upon
the case, for that whereas, the said Antoine
on the first day of day of July in the year
one thousand eight hundred and eighteen at the
county of St Louis aforesaid was indebted to the
said Franicis in the sum of one hundred
and three dollars forty cents lawful money
of the United States for so much goods,
wares and much and &
furs before that time had and by
the said Antoin, and to him sold and
at his special, instance and request
by the said Francis and he being so
indebted be the said Antoine afterwards,
to wit, on the same day and year last
aforesaid at the county aforesaid undertook
and then and there faithfully promised
the said Francis to pay him the said
sum of money when he should be

thereto afterwards requested

and whereas also, the said Antoin
afterwards, to wit on the said first day of
July in the year one thousand eight hundred
and eighteen at the county, aforesaid
with the said Francois of and concerning
divers, other sums of money from the said
Antoin to the said Francois before that
time due and owing and then in arrears,
and unpaid, and upon such accounting
the said antoine was then and there
found to be in arrear and indebted to the
said Francois in the further sum of one
hundred and three dollars and forty
cnts like lawful money of the N States,
and being so found in arrear and
indebted to the said Francis he the
said Antoine then and there in consideration,
thereof and undertook and faithfully
promised to pay him the said Francois , the
said last mentioned sum of money

when he should be afterwards
requested.

never theless, the said Antoin not regarding
his said several promises and undertakings
but and fraudulantly intending
and to deceive and
the said Francois , in this behalf
hath not as yet paid the said several
sums of money, or any, or other, or any
part thereof to the said Francois , althought
often requested so to do, but to pay the
same the said Antoine hath hitherto,
wholly refused, and still refuses, to the
damage of the plaintiff of two
hundred, and fifty dollars, and
therefore he brings suit

Before me Arch , Gamble is given Clerk
of the Circuit Court for the county aforesaid
personally came and appeared Francois Leclere ,
and made oath that that there is a
real subsisting debt due and owing to
him from Antoine Sitoliur, to the amount
of one hundred and three dollars and
forty cents, and that he verily beieves
the said Antoin ought to be held to
bail in the sum of two hundred dollars
to serve, the payment of said debt,
interests & costs,

Know all men by these presents, That we Antoin
Louis Trudeau ,
are held and firmly bound unto
John W. Thompson . Sheriff of the County of St. Louis , his assigns or su
cessors in office, in the sum of two hundred dollars
currency of the
United States , to which payment well and truly to be made, we bind our
selves and each of us by himself, our and each of our heirs, execu
tors, adminstrators and assigns, firmly by these presents. Sealed with
our seals and dated this 14th day of July in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Eighteen

The Condition Of The Above Obligation Is Such, That
if the above bound Antoin Cetoleau,
shall appear at the Court
to be held at the Circuit , Court
to be held at the town of St. Louis , on the Second monday of
October next, to answer unto Francois Leclere ,
a plea of trespass, upon the case to the damage
of Francois two hundred fifty dollars
and if judgment be given against him at the or any subsequent
term of said court, that the said Cebleau, will
pay the damages, aforesaid and costs, or the amount
of he condemnation of the court, or surrender himself in execution there
of, or that the said Louis
will do it for him; then the above obligation to be void, else to
remain in full force and virtue in law.
