St Louis County Ss. Francois Derouin and Dennis
Julien merchants and traders trading and doing business
under the name style of Francois Derouin Dennis
Julian complain of Patrick Lee wherefore he took three packs
of Beaver skins and twenty four packs of shaved deer skins and
packs of raccoon skins and one pack of muskrat and other
skins mixed, the goods and chattels and property of them
the said plaintiffs and detained the same against
and pledges until restitution thereof was made by
the sheriff of the said county of Saint Louis and therefore
the said Francois Derouin and Dennis Julien by their
Attorney complain for that the said Patrick on the eleventh
day of May One thousand eight hundred fifteen
at the town of S Louis in the county of S Louis aforesaid
and within the jurisdiction of their court in a certain
ware house took the goods and chattels of them the said
Derouin and Julien three packs of Beaver skins weighing
three hundred and twenty eight pounds numbered "One
two three" of great value to writ of the value of seven hundred
dollars and twenty four packs of shaved deer skins weigh-
ing about two thousand four hundred and sixty five pounds
of great value to writ of the value of twelve hundred
dollars and four packs of raccoon skins containing three
hundred skins of great value to writ of the value of
three hundred dollars and one pack of muskrat and
other skins mixed containing sixty two skins of great value
to writ of the value of two hundred dollars all the
property goods or chattels of them the said plaintiff and
unjustly detained the same against and pledges
until the sheriff of the said county of Saint Louis made
deliverance thereof to them the said plaintiffs where-
fore the said Derouin and Julien the said plaintiffs
say that they are injured and have sustained damage
to the value of three thousand dollars and therefore
they bring suit

We command you that if Francois Derouin and Dennis
Julien, merchants and traders, trading and doing business under the
name style of Francois Derouin and Dennis Julien
shall make you secure you cause to be and delivered
to them the said Derouin and Julien three packs of Beaver
skins numbered "One, two three" of the value of seven hundred dollars,
and twenty four packs of shaved deer skins of the value of twelve
hundred dollars, and four packs of raccoon skins of the value of
three hundred dollars and one pack of muskrat and other skins
mixed of the value of two hundred dollars, the property of the
said Derouin and Julien as they say which said property is
detained by Patrick Lee against and pledges And
that you summon the said Patricks Lee if he may be found
within your bailiwick that he be and appear before ourCir-
cuit court to be holden at the town of Saint Louis within and
for the County of Saint Louis on the second monday in July
next then and there to answer unto Derouin and Julien doing
business under the name style aform of Francois Derouin
and Dennis Julien of a plea wherefore be the said Patrick
took three packs of Beaver skins numbered "one, two three" of the
value of seven hundred dollars and twenty four packs
of shaved deer skins of the value of twelve hundred dollars
and four packs of raccoon skins of the value of three hun-
dred dollars and one pack of muskrat and other skins mixed
of the value of two hundred dollars the property of the said
Derouin and Julien and the said property detains against
and pledges to the damage of the said Derouin and
Julien three thousand dollars and have you then there
this writ.

and territory of Missouri an held and firmly bound
unto John M . Thompson sheriff of St Louis county
or his successors in office in the first andfull
sum of five thousand dollars currency of the
United States to the payment of which will and
truely to be made we bind ourselves and
severally our and each of our
and firmly by these presents sealed
with our seals and signed with our hands
this eleventh day of May Eighteen hundred and
fifteen

The of the above obligation
is such that whereas the aforesaid Francois Derouin
and Dennis Julian have this day received a certain
of a peltry out of the lands of Patrick
Lee by virtue of a writ of
clerks office of the circuit court of St Louis as will
more fully appear from the return as said
for it - now if the said Francois Derouin and
Dennis Julian return the aforesaid property to
the said Patrick Lee if it should be adjudged
to him by the said circuit court or any other
court at any further period in as good order
as when it was when they received it and without waste or defalcation when this obligation
to be void else to remain in full force and -
