Joseph , at the
District aforesaid on the thirteenth Day of July in the year
one thousand eight hundred and
nine, by his certain
in ok of that by him with his own
proper mark, or signature
thatothers made
and subscribed, promised the plaintiff as follows
"on Demand &promise to pay to Gen. William Clark
"agent for the Missouri Fur Company or his order
"the just sum of
eighty four Dollars and seventy
"five cents for value received

Pleas to be holden at the town of St Louis in & for the District
of Saint Louis on

Clark (for the use of the Missouri
Fur Company ) of a plea of trespass on the case to the damage

and assigns, firmly by these presents, sealed with our

The Condition of the above obligation is such, that if the
above bound
Joseph Richard shall appear at the
Court of Common pleas- to be held
at the Town of
Saint Louis - On the first Monday of November next
to answer unto William Clark , for the use of the Missouri Fur Company
in a plea of trespass on the case to hear
damage
as it is said One hundred and fifty Dollars
and if
Judgement be given against them at that or
any said
segment term of said Court, that the said Joseph Richard
will pay the damages as aforesaid and costs, or
the amount
of the condemnation of the Court, or surrender
himself
in execution therof, or that she the said Pelagie PeletianVive
Morin, will do it for him then the above
obligation to be
void, else to remain in full force and virture in Law
