. Michael for this. that the said Francois , or the
District aforesaid, or the thirteenth day of July, in the
, one thousand eight hundred and nine, by his
certain promissary note of that rule by him with his out
proper hand writing or mark subscribed, promised the
plaintiff as follows "on Demand & promised to pay
"to Gen William Clerk agent for the Missouri Fur
"company or order the just sum of the

found within your Bailiwick and him safely keep so that you may have his
body before the judges your County of Common Pleas to be holden at the town of
Saint Louis in & for the District of Saint Louis on the first Monday of november
next then there to answer unto William Clerk for the use of the Missouri Fur
Company of a near of on the Care to the Damage of the said William ,
the of three hundred Dollars and have you then there this writ.
